abstract In the paper the exemplary results of computer simulations of the injection molding of specimens for cracking process test have been presented. The authors have made an attempt to proof the usage of advanced computer methods in modeling of the plastics processing. Moldflow Plastics Insight ver. 4.1 program being the integral unit of the package EDS I-DEAS NX 11m1 was used for numerical simulation of the process. The software made it possible to perform the series of numerical analyses of the plastics injection molding - especially plastics composites. Composites of polypropylene and polyamide with glass fiber as well as talc were taken into the investigations. The results of the computer simulation of the injection molding of specimens for cracking process test of composites with different injection moulding conditions were compared. For the purposes of the paper the chosen results of simulation have been presented. A cubicoid beam with a notch in the centre of its unit was used as example. Special attention was drawn into the modeling of the phenomena in the neighborhoods of the notch. A capacious investigative material resulting from the simulations was subjected to the detailed analysis in order to perform a thorough interpretation.
