abstract In this paper technological and material conception of composites manufacturing was shown. As the matrix of composites used the aluminium alloy with silicon AlSi12Cu2Fe. As the reinforcing particles used CrFe36C9. Composites was produced in ex situ technique through the pour participles (10%) into liquid aluminium matrix in inductive furnace and stirring composite suspension in the crucible. The time of stirring was 90 s. The composite suspension was cast into the shell moulds. The process of forming the structure in the time of solidification of the composite cast is depending of many factors, first of all on the size and volume fraction of the reinforcing phases as well as on the kind and the properties of the using reinforcement. Therefore the properties of composites can be controlled through changes in the type, content and dimension of reinforcing particles. The purpose to this investigation was definition influence to particles dimension CrFeC into distribution of reinforcing carbide phase in the matrix composites. Segregation by gravity was investigated. Technological conception of investigations was based on assumption that chromic matrix of CrFeC participles become dissolve in aluminium composite matrix, and carbide phases were became real reinforcement of composite. The investigation of composite structure was executed. The examination of composites structure included: estimation of reinforced phases volume fraction, optical microscopy, scanning microscopy of fractures. Quantitative phase analysis with use method X-ray diffraction on diffractometer was carried. To identification of phases point analysis was used.
