abstract This paper presents the results of the investigations of composite layers, with short characteristic of those layers. One chose following chemical compositions of layers: 1. Base-3H13/ Coat-Cr (PTA), 2. Base-3H13/ Coat-Cr - 90%, Al2O3 - 10% (PTA), 3. Base-3H13/ Coat-Cr -70%, CrxCy - 30% (PTA), 4. Base-3H13/ Coat-NiCr - 50%, CrxCy - 40%, NiAl - 10% (plasma spraying). In the investigations we used two plasma methods: Spraying and Plasma Transferred Arc (PTA). In all obtained layers, the microhardness increased to average 400 μHV100. The microhardness of base metal is about 250 μHV100. Composite layers made by plasma transferred arc (PTA) method characterise homogeneous structure and high resistance to oxygenation in temperature to 800oC. This paper presents results of the investigations by optical microscopy, scanning microscopy, linear and surface analysis of distributions of elements in matrix and in reinforcement, microhardness tests. The aim of those investigations is the elaboration of composite coats on forms to pressing glasses.
